A Campus Built for Focus

Studying on Nevis

MUA's academic campus sits on the island of Nevis, where students complete the first five semesters of Basic Sciences. The campus includes dedicated classroom buildings, gross anatomy and microbiology laboratories, a medical reference library, and air-conditioned learning spaces designed to support focused study.

Outside the classroom, students have access to tennis courts, a basketball court, a fitness center, and a student cafeteria. The island's quiet atmosphere and natural beauty create an environment where students can concentrate on their medical education without the distractions of a large city.

Housing options range from dormitory-style accommodations to furnished apartments, most within walking distance or a short ride from campus. MUA provides a pickup service for students who need transportation to and from classes.

Multiple Pathways to an MD

4-Year MD

For University Graduates

The standard MD track for students who have completed a bachelor's degree with the required pre-medical coursework. Ten semesters: five on Nevis, followed by an 8-week research module and 72 weeks of clinical rotations in the U.S. and Canada.

5-Year BSc/MD

For Students with Advanced Standing

Designed for applicants with qualifications such as A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, or an Associate's degree. Combines preparatory coursework with the MD curriculum, providing a structured route for students who are ready for medical-level study but need a bridge year.

6-Year BSc/MD

For Secondary School Graduates

An accelerated 2+4 program for students entering directly from high school or O-Levels. The first two years build a strong science foundation before students transition into the MD program. U.S. students take the MCAT during the pre-med phase; international students may proceed without it.

Life on Nevis

Beautiful Caribbean island beach and clear water

Nevis is a small, peaceful Caribbean island with a rich history and stunning natural scenery. For medical students, it offers a rare combination: a focused academic environment and a setting that supports well-being.

The island is known for its beaches, hiking trails — including the challenging Nevis Peak — and a welcoming local community. Students can enjoy snorkeling, explore historic sites, or simply unwind between study sessions.

Daily life is straightforward: most students live within a short distance of campus, communicate via WhatsApp, and find that the island's slower pace helps them stay grounded during the demanding Basic Sciences years.
