Two Campuses, One Mission
Choose Your Starting Point
AUC offers two distinct locations for the Medical Sciences phase. U.S. citizens complete Years 1 and 2 on the Sint Maarten campus. Non-U.S. citizens can choose between Sint Maarten or the U.K. Track at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England.
Accreditation and Recognition
AUC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM). The U.S. Department of Education's NCFMEA has determined that ACCM's standards are comparable to those of the LCME, which accredits U.S. medical schools.
Graduates are eligible to seek licensure in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Both campus pathways lead to the same clinical curriculum: 80 weeks of hands-on patient care at affiliated teaching hospitals across the United States and United Kingdom.
The Sint Maarten campus features modern laboratories, innovative teaching programs, and supplemental electronic curriculum delivery. The U.K. Track places students in a vibrant city with a thriving international student community.
How the AUC MD Program Works
Medical Sciences — Sint Maarten or U.K.
Five semesters of integrated medical science coursework. Lectures, small-group sessions, and laboratory work, with clinical skills training beginning in semester one. Students must pass USMLE Step 1 before advancing.
Clinical Sciences — U.S. & U.K.
80 weeks of clinical rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals. Core clerkships cover internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and psychiatry, followed by elective rotations in subspecialties of the student's choice.
